INDIAN VOCAL COMPETITION

According to Indian musicology, Sangeet is a combination of geetang, badyang and nrityang (geet is vocal music, badya is instrumental music and nritya is dance) and every performance is unique as every performer is a unique being, throbbing with life. To ensure that rhythm and harmony find their way into the inward places of the soul, students of our school from III-VIII grades participated in Indian Vocal Competition on 18/7/2019. The event began with the auspicious lamp lighting and felicitation of guests.This was followed by the performances of students. The audience was enthralled with the mellifluous renditions of the vocalists across the grades. The competition was adjudged by noted vocalist from Delhi Gharana and tabla maestro Mr. Harpreet Singh who has attained the distinction of Sangeet Prabhakar in Vocal and Tabla from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The participants as well as the winners also gained insight into the world of music through the words of encouragement from Mrs. Kamal Dey, a leading exponent of classical music and dance, who was the Guest of honor. The winners received certificate of appreciation for their feat. A vote of thanks was proposed at the culmination of the event followed by the National Anthem.
