INTERHOUSE MUSICAL INSTRUMENT COMPETITION
CLASSES III-VIII
6/11/2019
“Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without.”
This thought of the Chinese philosopher Confucius was evident when K.R. Mangalam World School Faridabad organized the Inter house Musical Instrument Competition in its premises. Armed with various instruments, the students were brimming with enthusiasm to display their talent. For them being able to play any musical instrument is extremely satisfying not only to them as a beginner who has learnt to play the first few chords, but also to those amongst them who have mastered it with years of practise.
The event commenced with the lighting of the sacred lamp among the chants of the Gayatri mantra. The guests for the occasion were renowned percussionist and Kathak trainer Pt. Jagdish Prasad Sonegra and Mr. Harish Prajapati, a multifaceted music personality. As the event unfolded after the felicitation of the guests, the judges were impressed by the musical talent of the students. While some displayed their skill through the rendition of patriotic songs and devotional music, others showcased their talent through popular tunes.
To enable the students to realize the essence of a musical note, Panditji performed the ‘teen-taal’ on the tabla and explained its nuances. Mr. Prajapati too shared valuable tips with the students. Our revered Principal Ma’am encouraged the students to realize their true potential through consistent hard work and regular practice. At the end, the guests and Principal ma’am awarded the winners. The daylong event ended with a vote of thanks.
