Class VII – National Sports Day
“Success is where preparation and opportunity meet. Sports do not build character.”
National Sports Day is celebrated in India to mark the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. Sports give us a sense of identity and national pride. To highlight the importance of this day and to attract the attention of the students towards games,sports and physical activities, a special assembly was organized, by students of Class VII B on 27th August 2019 in which the students were informed about the importance of ‘Sports’ and the relevance of National Sports Day.
The serene early morning hours welcomed one and all to the A wing stage area. The assembly began with the school prayer,followed by the pledge. Thought for the day was shared and news headlines was presented. Students energised the audience with their mesmerizing dance performance as they matched their steps with some foot tapping music. The audience also enjoyed a solo song performance by a student.
An edifying skit was presented by the students to highlight the importance of sports in our lives.The students learnt a lot about true sportsmanship and the value of playing games and physical activity. The performance was appreciated by all. The assembly came to its finale with the students delivering a vote of thanks.
