The corridors of K.R Mangalam World School Faridabad reverberated with joyous carols since the morning of Christmas Eve as the students eagerly waited for their turn to meet St. Nicholas or the popular Santa Claus. While they were dressed in colours of Christmas ,i.e , primarily red and white, the school was decked up in varied hues resonating with the colourful mood of the season. A Special Assembly was organized for the preprimary as well as the primary and middle school to enhance their knowledge on world culture and the values of tolerance, sharing, caring and respect. During the morning hours, the stage was set by the preprimary teachers to entertain the eager young ones. The ambience of the C Wing had a Christmas fervor in it as it was aesthetically decorated with stars, trees, buntings and the like. The young ones learnt about the birth of Christ as the Son of God through a captivating puppet show organized by their teachers. The carols too brought home the feeling of joy and festivity.
The primary and the middle school were treated with the same festivity, albeit on a grander scale. The students of Class V, who were primarily responsible for the act, put together a stupendous performance along with Class VIII. The popular Christmas carols “Hark the Herald and Joy to the World” among others sang by the school choir ushered in the mood among the audience. The skit highlighting the birth of Jesus Christ was hugely appreciated for its nuanced performance. The merry making Santa Claus was hugely popular among the students as he distributed sweets. Principal Ma’am reiterated the values of respect, sharing, caring and the joy of giving which the festival of Christmas teaches us among the students.
The day ended with a Muffin Decorating Competition among the students of grades III-VIII. The judges went from room to room to appreciate ‘the little piece of art’ created by the students. The winners were duly applauded for their efforts by the Principal.
