If music be the food of love, play on; Give me excess of it, that, surfeiting, the appetite may sicken, and so die. These fine lines by Shakespeare are etched in the heart and soul of every music lover. Music is a language that doesn’t speak in particular words, it speaks in emotions. A Western Vocal Competition was organsied by K.R. Mangalam World School Faridabad to provide a platform to express these emotions and the students from grades III-VIII gladly participated in it. The event began with the auspicious lamp lighting and felicitation of guest. This was followed by the performances of students. The audience was enthralled with the mellifluous renditions of the vocalists across the grades. Long forgotten songs jostled with the latest chartbusters as the eager participants belted out one song after another. The competition was adjudged by noted vocalist Ms. Vaani Behl who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The participants as well as the winners also gained insight into the world of music through her performance as well as the words of encouragement she shared with them. The winners received certificate of appreciation for their feat. A vote of thanks was proposed at the culmination of the event followed by the National Anthem.
