Scholar Badge Ceremony at K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II
K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K- II observed the Scholar Badge Ceremony of classes IV, VI, VIII and X of session 2016-17 on 8 December, 2017 to felicitate meritorious students for their academic brilliance. The event commenced with the invocation of the Almighty followed by the rendition of the school song by the School Choir.
The Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi, welcomed the Chief Guest, Shri Anil Swarup, IAS, Secretary, School Education & Literacy, MHRD and congratulated the students and encouraged them to enjoy the glory for which they have worked so hard. In her thought provoking speech, she appreciated the meticulous efforts of outstanding students and motivated others to follow their path. Shri Anil Swarup exhorted the students to not only pursue their own goals, but also make a difference in the lives of those with whom they are associated. He also congratulated and praised the determination and perseverance of the awardees and motivated the other students to resolve to scale stellar heights.
An enthralling dance performance ‘Karmnishtha Gajanan- a dance drama’ held the audience captivated.
As a hallmark of true academic brilliance, Kritika Sharma of Class XII was awarded the most Promising Student Award for her exceptional talent and excellence in all fields. It was a proud moment for all present. The vote of thanks was proposed by the Senior School Academic Coordinator, Ms. Ritu Sachdeva.
FEATS OF AN ASPIRING GOLFER
Achievement is the product of aspiration, expectation and preparation. PurnayushMangal of Class IX, an avid golfer, is keen to make it big in his area of interest. The young enthusiast is leaving no stone unturned in proving his mettle. He has taken part in various tournaments both in Delhi and across India,following his passion for golf which has paved the path for him to showcase his excellence.He is on a winning spree as in the past few months he has won several accolades in playing golf. The journey of success continued ashe bagged the second position and was closest to the pin in the Lufthansa Junior Golf tour.Announced as the winner with the best score,he secured the title ofthe best player of the month in LMJGT(Unitech) ,LMJGT(Tarudhan) and Hamoni Golf tour(Tarudhan).Also, he qualified andbagged the second position in LMJGT, Malaysia and Pro-am, LMJGT, Jaypee Green. Purnayush was a winner all the way at the Delhi Golf Club. Principal,Ms. AlkaAwasthi, wished him all the best for all his future endeavors.

Great moments are born from great opportunities. Alicia Jatyan of Class 7B and Kunal Chhabra of Class 9B carved a niche for themselves in the sports arena and has proved that winning is believingin ‘Yes, I can’. Alicia had taken part in the CBSE Central Zone Judo Championship at Bal Bharti Public School, Dwarka and she has come out with flying colours by securing the third position in ‘Below 45 kg’ category. Kunal Chhabra has won accolades in his dream to make it big in Roller Skating Hockey. He has proved his mettle at the Roller Skating Hockey Championship held at Jodhpur and by securing a place for himself at the National Level,Delhi State. The match which will be played at Belgaum,Karnataka,on 8 December 2017.

Students of K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II take part in Theatre Festival
At K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II, we firmly believe that the goal of education in current times is not to increase the amount of knowledge but to create possibilities for a child to invent and discover and to create learners who are capable of new things with unrelenting vigour and ardour. In pursuit of the same, the students of K.R Mangalam World School, G.K-II participated in the Children Theatre Festival organized by “Three Arts Club” at Sriram Centre on 10 Nov 2017. Our school was represented by a group of 20 youthful pupils (artists) staging a play titled as “Aetihasik Balidan”. The children received an overwhelming response from one and all present there.

An Inter School Team Competition of Creativity, Quick Decision Making and Problem Solving was held in the month of May in order to test the spontaneity, creativity and logical understanding of the students given a constrained environment.
The selected winner students of K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II had the opportunity to compete in the Creativity Decathlon Global Finals hosted by the Korean Association of Creativity Education sponsored by Ajou University in Seoul, in the month of August, 2017. K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II made a mark in the event with three students namely, Angad of class VII, Akshay and Ravyaraj of class VI bagging the First position and indeed adding another plume to the saga of our success. The Principal Ms Alka Awasthi congratulated the students for bringing laurels to school.
Mathematics Week at K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II
“Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas”
K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II, successfully organized a rich array of Mathematics and logical assessment for the students stressing on educational context for learning experiential mathematics.
The Math week was observed from 23rd October 2017 to 27th October 2017 which incorporated activities focussing on learning Mathematics in a fun way. Students were involved in various activities focusing on “hands on learning’’. Subject specialists Mr.Kshtij Dhyani from School of Planning and Architecture and Dr Ashok Arora , Academic Advisor, K.R Mangalam Group of Schools were invited to share their experiences related to the subject matter with students and to make the learning and usage of Mathematics more interesting.
Math can be fun when it comes together to play around with shapes, patterns, colors, enactment and quizzing. A real life application while learning in the form of tiles , block etc. with a dash of creativity got children engrossed in the activities which took place across classes III to X.
ROAD SAFETY WEEK-BETTER LATE THAN NEVER
K.R. Mangalam World School took the initiative to create Road Safety Awareness in collaboration with Delhi Traffic Police by organizing a Debate Competition in the school premises on 17 October, 2017 to ensure that individuals are well informed about the rules they should adhere to while commuting on the roads. The Debate Competition was held for classes VI-VIII on the topic, “Road safety education is very essential in inculcating good safety habits among people.” This was a part of the School Road Safety Awareness Campaign 2017-18 organized by Delhi Traffic Police.
