CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP
Traditional classroom teaching often places the teacher at the center of the teaching-learning process. It is largely instruction-based. The Constructivism approach to teaching of Mathematics not only transmits knowledge from teacher to learners but also promotes multi-sensory and multi-disciplinary learning. In pursuit of the same, a Capacity Building Program on Challenging Areas in Mathematics was held on 3 & 4 August, 2016 at Amity International School, Pushp Vihar for Class X . The Resource Persons Ishita Mukherjee and Shikha Gautam enumerated the key points and objectives to combat Math Phobia.
Objectives of the Workshop:
- How to deal with phobia of Mathematics
- Understanding and Developing learning objectives
- How Learning of Mathematics can be made interesting and enjoyable
The workshop conveners exhorted the role of a teacher in constructivist set up to motivate learners to learn Mathematics. According to them, learners build their own understanding of Mathematical knowledge and the teacher has to ensure that they build a logical and coherent understanding.
