In regard to the same, K.R. Mangalam World School, GK II organized an excursion to National War Memorial on Friday, 14February 2020 for the students of classes VI and VIII.
The National War Memorial has spread over 40 acres in the India Gate complex behind the canopy, commemorating the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers. The National War Memorial was inaugurated on February 25, 2019 by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi near India Gate, New Delhi. It has been built as a tribute to the soldiers killed during the Indo-China War in 1962, the Indo-Pak Wars in 1947, 1965 and 1971, and the Kargil Conflict in 1999, and the Indian Peace Keeping Force Operations in Sri Lanka.Adjacent to the main complex lies a tribute to the 21 ParamVir Chakra with a bronze bust.The entire stonework of the memorial, was done by Star Mercantile of Kishore Kapur, including the obelisk.
Students enriched their learning experience by witnessing ‘Amar Chakra’, ‘Veerta Chakra’ and ‘Tyag Chakra’. Students remembered those who went through hardships and made sacrifices for us and our nation. Students also witnessed an eternal flame similar to India Gate. It represents that their sacrifice will always be remembered by the citizens of India.
The students enthusiastically spotted the names of proud Indians who sacrificed their lives for the sake of safety and security of the citizens of India.
