Life Skills Workshop
By learning new skills, we increase our understanding of the world around us and equip ourselves with the tools we need to live a more productive and fulfilling life, finding ways to cope with the challenges that life, inevitably, throws at us.
At K.R. Mangalam World School, we believe that education is not only about creating geniuses but also impeccable human beings. Keeping this in mind, KRM GKII, has started life skills training workshop which is conducted across different levels in the school. These workshops aim at helping students to find new ways of thinking and problem solving. They are able to recognize the impact of their actions and learn to take responsibility for what they do rather than blame others. It also helps in building confidence both in spoken skills and in group collaboration and cooperation.
Class teachers of class III to IX introduced life skills to their respective students. They were asked to sit in a circle along with the teacher and randomly pass a soft ball to one another. The person who received the ball was expected to introduce themselves. To gauge the attention of the group, the students were asked to highlight the quality of the person next to them. The students were thrilled with this activity as it kept the spark of suspense and individuality burning bright.
Teachers conducted the activity with classes X to XII a little differently. The teachers introduced life skills and its importance to their class through artistic expressions which the students were asked to draw on a plain canvas. Later, they were asked to pronounce their feelings, ambitions, dreams etc.
