Project Based Learning for Kindergarten Students 

K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K. II believes in dynamic classroom approach in which students acquire a deeper knowledge through active exploration of real-world challenges and problems.In pursuit of the same, the students of Kindergarten enjoyed a fun filled activity of making book marks using different sea shells. This activity is a part of Project Based Learning. The tiny tots were thrilled with the activity and participated enthusiastically.

K.R. MANGALAM WORLD SCHOOL, G.K.II,organized a workshop on Deworming Awareness Campaign on Friday July 12, 2019, for its Pre-Primary and Primary students, to understand the effectiveness of using Deworming tablets and protecting us from various diseases.

Also a quick share of learning was discussed by Dr.Seema Das as she talked about the relevance of hygiene and cleanliness as the key to good health and healthy mind. The guest also talked about various bacteria and viruses that attack us due to dirty hands and eating dirty, uncovered and roadside food and how we can protect ourselves from diseases.

The workshop was very informative and everyone learnt the “Happy Hands” technique of cleaning your hands in six steps. The Deworming Campaign is scheduled for 8thAugust 2019 in School covering age groups from 1 year to 14 years followed up by round up on 16th August 2019.

Celebration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

To commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and to give an impetus to the Swacch Vidyalaya initiative, K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II also joined hands to spread the message of Swachhata by putting slogans on the washroom walls spreading awareness regarding the need to keep toilets clean.

Inter- House Basketball and Cricket Match

“Sports teaches you character, it teaches you to play by the rules, it teaches you to know what it feels like to win and lose-it teaches you about life.”

In this era of cut throat competition, it is of supreme importance to provide opportunities to students to meet the challenges of the future.In pursuit of inculcating the same, various Inter- House matches were organized for the senior school on 13 July 2019 at K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K.II.The Girl students of classes VI-VIII of the four houses of the school competed in an Inter- House Basketball Match against each other wherein Topaz and emerald competed against each other and Topaz emerged victorious and between Sapphire and ruby, Sapphire took over the victory.INTERHOUSE (1)

The girls stepped onto the court to set it ablaze with speed, endurance, magical footwork, dribble and much to the audience-excitement, a nail-biting finish.The match witnessed a lot of close contests with each team jumping and leaping to score baskets. It was a closely fought competition wherein each house put in their best foot forward. Lay-ups were met with intense blocks as the players sweated it out in the courts.INTERHOUSE (3)

Inter- House Cricket Match for boys of classes VI-VIII also took place on the same day. The match witnessed great batting and disciplined bowling while the fielders ran their hearts out to try and secure a win for their respective teams. All the houses played their hearts out in trying to secure glory.The tournament, after fierce competition, ended with Topaz house managing to edge out Emerald house and once again, Sapphire emerged victorious in the match between Sapphire and Ruby.

  • NCC : Annual Training Camp for NCC Girl Cadets
  • 18 NCC Girl Cadets of K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K. II participated in the NCC Annual training camp which was held from 13 June to 22 June at Safdarjung Enclave,New Delhi . The girl cadets enthusiastically participated in various activities set up for them in the camp. The highlights of the camp are listed below:
  • 1.Swach Bharat Abhiyan
  • 2.First Aid programme
  • 3. Indulging in various sports
  • 4.Taking part in cultural programme
  • 5. Participation in International Yoga Day
  • 6.March past drill.

German Exchange Programme

K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II is in collaboration with St Emmeram Realschule, Munich under an Exchange Program. The students and Teachers of the collaborative schools are undergoing project activities in order to learn the culture of each other.

Annual Training Camp (ATC) is compulsory for all NCC cadets during their second year. ATC completion is mandatory for appearing in NCC A certificate examination. 10 student cadets of K R Mangalam World School ,GK2 successfully completed the course organized by NCC between 30 May 2019 to 8 June 2019 at NCC Bhawan, Rohini. The student cadets were accompanied by Mr. Sandeep Chaprana.

It was a very enriching experience for the students and it contributed in their overall personality development and made them more optimistic.

Below mentioned are some highlights of the camp:

1.Weapon handling training and Rifle Shooting skills.
2. Role of NCC in country’s security and emergencies like Disasters, wars, peace etc.
3. Unity and Discipline, National integration and unity & diversity.
4. March Past Drills, Word of commands
5. Sports, adventures activities, Cultural programs, First Aid, Fire Fighting etc.
6. Self care, team work, leadership qualities, responsibility of a responsible citizen.
7. Cleanliness, importance of Environment, measures to reduce pollution and social/behavioural antiques.
8.Scope of NCC as a career and academics.

“Teach me, and I will forget. Show me, and I might remember. Involve me, and I will never forget.”

Extra-curricular activities allows children to grow. They stimulate them with new ideas and new ways of thinking. They give her a sense of accomplishment and build their confidence. It also teaches them teamwork. These are some of the excellent lessons which students need to learn to become a successful adult. With this in mind, K.R. Mangalam School is giving students the platform to explore their hidden talent by taking up a club activity of their choice. This week’s club activities were enjoyed by children thoroughly as they learned many new skills and were exposed to various invigorating activities. A sneak peek into today’s activities:

Students judged the state of plants in every section and decided the winner of every class. Students also dug pits for composting. 7-8 pits were dug and dry leaves collected were put. Few pits have been made ready for future exercises.

INTER- HOUSE POSTER MAKING COMPETITION

The World of imagination is boundless.

K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II had organized an Inter-House Poster Making Competition for the students of the Class VI on 3 May 2019. The objective of the competition was to ignite the fire of imagination and creativity in the students. The theme of the competition was ‘Save Environment’ or ‘Our Mother Earth’. Students were asked to express their ideas through paintings and sketches.The young learners displayed their artistic skills through an array of posters Students of all the four houses participated in the competition with immense zeal and enthusiasm and made beautiful posters which gave the message of saving our mother Earth and providing a greener environment to our future generations. It was a great opportunity to watch these young minds creating and displaying their ideas on paper. The students thoroughly enjoyed the activity.

RANGOLI MAKING COMPETITION

Imagination is the spark that ignites the fire of creativity.

Rangoli is a traditional form that brightens up an occasion and is believed to be harbinger of good luck. Beautiful patterns are created on the floor using coloured rice, flowers, coloured sand or paints. Keeping up with this thought,the talent and creativity of the students was well brought out in an Inter-House Competition organized on 3 May 2019, for the students of the Senior School at K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II. The competition was held in two categories. In Category I (VII & VIII) the students of all the four houses made colourful Rangoli patterns. The theme for the competition was ‘Incredible India’ or ‘Environmental Pollution’. In Category II (IX & XI) the students of all the four houses made beautiful and creative Rangoli patterns on the theme ‘Save the Girl Child’ or ‘Save Water’. The students put their best foot forward and took part in the competition with zest. Innovation and creation are the words that best describes their efforts.

In category 1 (VII &VIII) Topaz House bagged the first position followed by Emerald House in the second place and the third position was secured by Sapphire House.

In category II (IX & XI) Emerald House secured the first position followed by Topaz House in the second place and Ruby House got the third position.
