“A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the centre of our world.”
At KR Mangalam World School GK – II , we completely understand the importance of a child’s growth and the sensitive role of parents along with teachers, wherein we foster child’s learning through joint efforts of parents, teachers and the school.
The idea behind this program was to help partner with the parents who along with the staff and students are important stake-holders in the pursuit of imparting holistic education to help our students become men-and-women-for-others.
Studies show, that when families are involved in the education of their children in positive ways, the children maximize on their untapped potentials and are more attentive, punctual and demonstrate positive attitude and behaviour. The foundation for good parent teacher relationship is, frequent and open communication, mutual respect and a clear understanding of what is best for each individual child.
Keeping this in mind KR Mangalam World School GK II organized online ‘Parent Orientation Program 2020-21.The Principal, Dr. Sangeeta Arora emphasized on the importance of online teaching in achieving success in the ‘Board Examination’.
Dr. Arora discussed the new probable change in the scheme of practical and theory exams in the wake of covid 19. Various methods of assessing the students were shared with the parents. The parents were shown a power point presentation which gave a comprehensive idea about the actual mid-term result and a glimpse into the various activities and learning strategies used by the school in order to get a 100 percent result.
The orientation program proved to be a sincere effort made by the school in educating the parents to look after and guide their children in a proper manner. It also helped in evolving a common teaching strategy and helped the parents in identifying suitable follow up methods to reinforce the learning process of their children.
Overall, it was a fruitful and enriching experience for the parents and students.
