Making A Solar System

DAY & DATE: MONDAY, 17 FEBRUARY,2020

The students of Class II participated enthusiastically in Solar System Making Activity. The objective of the activity was to create awareness about our Solar System. The activity helped to build scientific temperament and disposition in the young learners. The students demonstrated their knowledge and expressed their creativity beautifully. They enjoyed sticking the planets in their orbits, stars and the Sun. It was a fun and engaging activity.

ENGLISH STORY TELLING ACTIVITY

DAY & DATE: Thursday, 20 February, 2020

K.R. Mangalam World School, GKII, is synonymous with the freedom of education and giving children a platform for showcasing their talent and creativity. The students of class –II participated in English Story Telling Activity.
Theme : Enactment of story from the English Text book using props /hand puppets. The objective of the activity was to enhance the young learner’s English speaking and listening skills.
The students narrated the storywith confidence and ease and carried colourful props to enhance their performance.They learnt the proper ways of telling a story using a voice modulation and correct intonation. It was indeed heartwarming to see our young ones performing with exuberance and enthusiasm. It was a good learning experience.

We at K.R. Mangalm World School, GK-ll believe that providing a platform to grow and nurture is the best way to teach and to reinforce the same, students of Nursery were taken for Nature Walk wherein they explored different plants, flowers and trees. The curiosity of touching the plants and flowers and feeling them was a sight to treasure.Our students collected dry leaves, twigs, leaves etc to preserve as momentous. It was indeed an exciting learning day for our little ones wherein learning through nature was emphasized.

“The World is but a canvas to the imagination.”

Students of Class Nursery participated in “Flower Making ” activity with clay modelling on Monday, 10 February, 2020.It was a new and fun filled experience for our students.
The happiness of moulding the clay to make different flowers was a sight to behold. Our students loved this activity thoroughly and were seen feeling proud of their own handmade flowers.

Let’s Salute the Nation on Republic Day!

On 24th January 2020, Republic Day was celebrated by the Nursery children of K.R. Mangalam World School, Gk- Il with great patriotism. The day began with a prayer followed by the National Anthem. Students wore tricolour badges which were coloured by them . Flag hoisting ceremony was a proud moment for our little ones .The joy of watching tricolour balloons in the sky was a treat to everyone’s eyes. The day went off well and students went home happy .

Project Based Learning Topic ‘Sports’

The exhibition was inaugurated by the eminent Chief Guest Mr. Ruchin Gupta, Additional Commissioner cum Director to the Government of India accompanied by the principal and the parents.

‘ Doing something novel makes you unique’ and with one step heading in uniqueness , the students of Class V displayed an exhibition on the Project Based Learning topic ‘Sports’ in the school campus. The idea behind organizing such activity was to inculcate hands on experience among students, judge their ability in doing something new. The exhibition focussed on ingraining a scientific and creative attitude in our young students. The exhibition provided a platform for students to display their knowledge, creativity, investigative skills and talent. The exhibits were displayed on each stall where students displayed the models , charts, games, puzzles and enactments along with live game counters.

A special presentation was also staged by the students of Class IV on the topic ‘Seven Continents’. The presentation began on an auspicious note by invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati with the lighting of the lamp. The audience was given a rousing welcome with a melodious song followed by the welcome address of the Principal, Dr. Sangeeta Arora. In her speech, the Principal emphasized on the vivid cultures, customs and traditions of the seven continents of the world. The young enthusiasts and vivacious students of KRM rejuvenated everyone with their energizing presentation and scintillating dance performances.

The exhibition was a fun and enriching experience which motivated the children to give their best and the presentation was a resplendent pageant of dance, drama, and music. The musical element infused symphony and melody into the show and brought the entire amphitheater vibrating.

The event closed with the Grand Finale celebrations by all the participants. It was indeed a spectacular display of talent and fervor.

Recap activity on Articles was conducted for class 4 wherein the students placed the correct article (flash card) before the given noun.

Computer Week 2019

A technological inter school event COMP ‘D’ Affairs was organised on August 08, 2019 to celebrate the new technological inventions in computers.
Dr. V.V Subrahmanyam, Director, School of Computer and Information Sciences (SOCIS), IGNOU, New Delhi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Twenty Eight schools participated with great enthusiasm in all the events. Various events for classes IV to XII were organised like Mindsweeper,
Quiz, A/V Editing, PhotoGIMP, Reiment (Fancy dress), notiFYI and Sidequest(Gaming) to name a few.
Mr. Ankush Bhatia, Design Head, Ratna Sagar Publications and Ms. Amrita De , Project head, Ericsson India Global Services Pvt. Ltd. presided over as the judges for the various events organised.

Mental Health Week 2019

Celebrations of Mental Health week are underway with October 9th being the first day at K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II. Various activities were organized in the school to highlight the significance of the issue of good mental health and well-being. It was a unique experience to come together to promote actions that can improve our mental health. The students celebrated it with great aplomb by enhancing awareness about it.

MATH WEEK

The School observed the Mathematics week from 15 November to 17 November 2019. The School had organized a plethora of activities for all level. The students had an enriching time at the class activities planned during this time.

CLASS 4 – LADDER OF TANGRAMS MAKING ACTIVITY

As a part of Maths Week celebrations and to foster an intuitive sense of geometry, improve spatial skills and boost mathematics performance, a Tangrams making activity was organized on November 17 , 2019 for class IV. To enhance the creativity, the students were encouraged to form the figures using the cut outs of the complete set of seven tans that included two large triangles, two small triangles, a medium sized triangle, a parallelogram, and a square in such a way that all the tans were used and each tan laid flat on the workspace without overlapping.
Students selected a figure of his/her choice and made a tangram.
The ending letter of the first figure was the starting letter of the second figure .( For eg: A student makes a tangram of Chair . The last letter of this figure is R , so the student has to make the second figure which starts with R .The student can make a tangram of a Rabbit . )

Thus, the little ones had great fun making the Tangrams and it activated their creative best.

CLASS 5 – FINDING PERIMETER

During the activity, the students were provided with the two shapes and were asked to trace the given shapes on square lined paper/square centimetre paper or graph paper. They were further encouraged to calculate the perimeter of the given shapes.
This activity further helped to strengthen the concept of Perimeter.

REPORT ON THE INTER-HOUSE MODEL MAKING COMPETITION

The Inter-House Model Making Competition was organized on the 22nd of November 2019, for the students of classes VI-VIII, in continuation of the Science and Maths week of the school.
Model making was an activity that involved conceptual as well as theoretical knowledge to make learning and retention more profound and strong. The students got an array of material to make their astounding models. This activity brought forth the creativity and artistry of the students and gave them an opportunity to display their talent. The students enjoyed doing this activity.

REPORT ON THE INTER-HOUSE MATHEMATICAL RANGOMETRY COMPETITION.

The Inter-House Mathematical Rangometry Competition was conducted on 22 November, 2019 for classes VI-VIII.
The students were asked to get various materials like pulses or anything that they could devise, to make symmetrical designs, thereby giving an idea about their comprehension and understanding of the concepts taught in class. The students were seen actively and enthusiastically engaged in the activity.
