An inter house Card Making Competition was organized for classes VI-XI in the Computer Lab. The topics for the same were ‘Diwali’. The students participated keenly and made beautiful card by the dint of their creativity.

This activity aimed at exploring and encouraging creativity in children and giving them a platform to showcase their skill. It was wonderful to watch the zealous students giving expression to their thoughts. Each of the cards made by the children was a treat to the eyes. This made the selection process extremely difficult for the Judges.
In junior school, Ruby house bagged the first position followed by Emerald grabbing the second position whereas in senior school, Topaz house won the first position followed by Sapphire house bagging the second position. All the students were seen much enthusiastic. The event was a grand success.

An Inter-House English Declamation Competition was organized for classes IX-XI in the school premises. The topic for the same was ‘Single Use Plastic’. The students participated keenly and expressed their concern emphatically, stressing on the dire need to ban plastic in order to save the earth from choking to death.
The activity aimed at exploring and encouraging public speaking in children and giving them a platform to showcase their skill. It was wonderful to watch the enthusiastic students ardently expressing their thoughts. The first position was bagged by Srishti Singh of XI-E of Emerald House. The second position was secured by Jovita Kaur of XI-C Ruby House and the third position was again grabbed by Khushi Bhasin of XI-E of Emerald House.

The Eco Club students of K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K. II carried out an anti cracker campaign on October 25, 2019 for spreading awareness amongst peers, fellow students , teachers and staff members about the harmful consequences of bursting fire crackers in our daily lives. Students spoke on how our pets, our grand parents , babies are affected by the bursting of crackers. They also explained how the AQI (Air Quality Index) deteriorates by the reckless bursting of crackers.

Traffic Light

K. R Mangalam World School, G. K-2 beli.eves in making the children aware of the different traffic lights and traffic signals to keep them safe. Keeping this in mind, an activity of making “ Traffic Lights” was conducted on Friday, 18th October 2019 by all sections of KG classes. It was a fun filled experience for them. They enjoyed making traffic lights with the help of bangles and red, green, yellow paper.

“Dance is the hidden language of the soul”
K.R. Mangalam World School, GK II organised a Folk dance competition for Nursery children on October 17,2019 in which students participated with great enthusiasm. Folk dancing is a beautiful way to introduce our little children to the India’s rich cultural diversity. The stage came alive with the students spectacular dances. The attractive costumes looked very bright and vibrant. The happiness and joy of dancing was clearly reflected on faces of our little ones.

Diwali is the month of joy and festivity. Week long activities were planned for our young ones to make them feel a part of the pious festival. These include the slogan rally in which the Pre-Schoolers of K.R. MANGALAM WORLD SCHOOL, GK II participated enthusiastically and walked around the school holding banners and highlighting the messages of clean, peaceful and a cracker free Diwali. This activity made them aware of the adverse effects of bursting crackers on our environment. Students were dressed in colorful Indian attire and decorated the class beautifully with the paper lanterns and diya’s which were made by them. The classrooms were aesthetically decorated with the beautiful creative rangoli made with paint and glitter. Students really enjoyed doing all the creative activities related to Diwali.

INTER- HOUSE FOOTBALL, THROWBALL AND BADMINTON MATCH

The importance of sports encompasses more than just the benefit of physical activity.Participation in sports helps inculcate admirable discipline and a sense of obedience. A student develops a sense of unity and competition. One becomes able to learn that success is possible through cooperative efforts of all the team members. At K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II, we provide opportunities to sow the seed of interest and career building in games.

Inter- House Football, Throwball and Badminton matches were organized on October 12, 2019. The matches were played between the four Houses-Sapphire, Ruby, Topaz and Emerald. The atmosphere was electric with the cheers of the students and the enthusiasm of the participants. Each house put in their best foot forward. The matches were played with immense zeal and fervor by the young and dynamic players. The results of the matches are as follows

Inter- House Competitions paves the way for our students to rejuvenate their spirits, remain rooted to the moral values and unleash their vitality.On 19 October 2019,various Inter- House Competitions were held within the school premises.The well planned competitions were conducted, focusing on brushing up students’ talents. Each child was given the opportunity and the platform to display his/her talent and present themselves as individuals.

Guided by their mentors,the competitions included ‘Slogan Writing’ in which Sapphire house bagged the first position.Another competition titled ‘Poster Making’in which first positionwas won by Topaz houseand ‘Essay Writing’ in which Sapphire house won the first position. These competitions developed a feeling of affiliation and unity among students.

Inter- House Clay Modelling Competition

An Inter House ‘Clay Modelling’ competition was held on 19 October 2019 in the school premises

The students were divided into two categories – Senior and Junior. Total twelve students participated from different houses. The topic for the same was ‘Diya Making’. Students enthusiastically took part in the competition and made many wonderful and creative divas. Ms. Lubna and Ms. Gurpreet Kaur were the esteemed judges for the competition and the judgement was given on the basis of creativity, decoration and finishing.

In the senior category, RAVEESHA KOTHARI, of class XI-F, bagged the first position and RIA, of class IX-B,bagged the second position.In the Junior category, TRISHNA PILLAI of class VIII-A got the first prize, JIA GANDHI of class VIII-E got the second prize and BINEET SINGH of class VI-E got the third prize.
