KRMUN 2K17-DAY 2

 KRMUN 2K17_day2The Day 2 of the KRMUN 2K17 was organised on 15 July, 2017 at K.R Mangalam World School, G.K-II.

The students took up innumerable issues such as, Eurozone Crisis, Proliferation of Nuclear weapons, use of mercenaries, socio economic issues, 1971 Bangladesh Crisis. The following committees are being seen in action like the SVR, NSG, UNHRC, IDA, JCC and UNSC. It was indeed fascinating to see various committees at work. One could find the first timers as well as the most experienced ones in the committees. On entering the rooms, delegates were found arguing, working and drawing inferences for the attention of the Chairs. Many delegates cleared their doubts by continuously shooting questions at the Executive Board which were answered to their content. The committees also broke into three breaks to join their work henceforth. The committees revolved around their agendas which were solved to some extent.

KRMUN 2K17-THE FIFTH EDITION

KRMUN 2K17_1The first day of the fifth edition of the KRMUN 2K17 was organised on 14 July, 2017 at K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II. Lt. Gen Sudhir Sharma, PVSM,AVSM,YSM,VSM (Retd), Chairman Mitkat Advisory Pvt Ltd graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Ms Ruchira Gujral, Corporate Specialist, UNICEF India presided over as the Guest Speaker for the inaugural ceremony. The ceremony began with the invocation of the Almighty and the lighting of the lamp followed by the welcome speech of the Principal Ms. Alka Awasthi. The Principal, in her address to the audience emphasised on the need to have nations to willingly cooperate to a system of governance that prevents warfare and promote world peace. A spellbinding Music and fusion dance performance won applauds from one and all. The Guests, exhorted on issues of adolescent empowerment and participation in building the nation.

Around 350 delegates from Delhi/ NCR conglomerated to role-play delegates to the United Nations and stimulate UN committees. It is an opportunity where students learn to be diplomatic and deal with phantom international crisis, offer suggestions and find amiable solutions.

K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II observes International Yoga Day

Yoga’ is one of the old disciplines which has been given to the world by India. The ultimate goal of yoga is to help the individual to transcend the self and attain enlightenment. As the Bhagavad-Gita says, “A person is said to have achieved yoga, the union with the Self, when the perfectly disciplined mind gets freedom from all desires, and becomes absorbed in the Self alone.
 
Keeping this in mind , the NCC Cadets of the school observed the third International Yoga Day on 21 June 2017 at Kamla Nehru College. The cadets followed this magnificent art of maintaining a healthy mind within a healthy body by performing various asanas.

Scholar Badge Ceremony at K.R Mangalam World School, G.K-II

Mangalam World School, GK II observed the Scholar Badge Ceremony of classes  V,VI,IX and XI of 2016-17 batch on 4 May 2017 to felicitate meritorious students for their academic excellence. The event commenced with a rendition of the school song by the school choir. The Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi, welcomed the Chief Guest, Ms. Shalini Singh, an IPS Officer , the Guest of Honour, Sh Jaidev Gupta , the Vice Chairman of K.R Mangalam Group of Schools and praised all the achievers who lived up to the expectations of their teachers and parents and made the school proud. In her thought provoking speech, she reiterated the need to carry forth the school values by giving selflessly, not just to the society, but to the country as well. She encouraged the students to not only pursue their own goals, but also make a difference in the lives of those with whom they associate. This was followed by a mesmerizing dance performance about the ‘portrayal of the divine friendship-Krishna and Sudama’ which enthralled the audience. The much awaited award distribution ceremony saw the distinguished guests and the Principal, giving away awards to the deserving students. As a hallmark of true academic brilliance, the students were awarded special prizes and the scholar badges. It was a proud moment for all present.

ARTISTIC HANDS OF CLASS II

An Inter-Class Drawing and Colouring Competition for was organized on 21 April , 2017 for the students of Class II at K.R. Mangalam World School G.K- II. The theme of this activity was ‘Make Your Planet Green’. This activity was organized to explore and encourage creativity in children and offer them a platform to showcase their skills in drawing and colouring.

It inspired children to think and work creatively and promoted artistic excellence. Children participated earnestly in the competition and came up with amazing artwork in drawing. Each of these drawings were artistically coloured by the children and was a real treat to the eyes.

This fun filled activity witnessed an enthusiastic participation of all the students of Class II.

A mega-event ‘Deutsch Jamboree’ was organized at K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II in collaboration with Goethe Institute, Max Mueller Bhavan on 28 April, 2017. With over 250 participants from more than 10 schools of Delhi-NCR, the day witnessed the agglomeration of German and Indian Culture.

A group of six students and two faculty members, the Principal Ms Alka Awasthi and the Senior School Coordinator Ms Ritu Sachdeva from K.R. Mangalam World School, GK – II received the honour of having a face-to-face interaction with the honourable President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee on 20 April, 2017 at his residence, the Rashtrapati  Bhavan.
 
The meet was organized as part of the ongoing ‘Earth Week’, a collaborative of the Social Science Department of the school, which is aimed at creating a sense of sensitivity and awareness regarding the current challenges faced by planet Earth among the students. 
Calling for the need to put emphasis on duty among the youth, President Pranab Mukherjee appreciated  the students for being pro-active and responsible citizens of the nation who must contribute  in the creation of a humane society.
 
While waiting to meet the President, the students also got the opportunity to meet Lord Swaraj Paul, from London.
Indeed an honour for the school to meet such personalities of repute.

Crossing Borders

Natascha Münnich, 23 years old Intern from Germany is visiting K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II to undertake her internship at within the framework of SCHULWÄRTS.
She was given a traditional welcome by the Principal Ms Alka Awasthi followed by an interaction with the staff. A time table has been chalked out to make the best out of her visit at K.R. Mangalam till May.

A Historic Winning Streak

K.R. Mangalam World School believes in developing the various facets of student’s personality to make them realize their innate talent. In the pursuit of the same, Inter School Championships are being organized to provide students an edge over others.  

It was a proud moment for the Football Champions of K.R. Mangalam World School, GK- II to win laurels for the school by securing the first position in the under 14 category. It was heartening to see such enthusiasm and high level of energy amongst students of different age groups.

The criterion for winning the tournament was not only the maximum number of matches won by the team but also the motivation driven by the Cheer leaders and the support provided by the display of School Flag and banners.

Players and cheerleaders were awarded the Winner’s Trophy in all pomp and show. The players were also awarded with Gold Medals and certificates and they walked off the field with great pride. With grit and determination, the young achievers left no stone unturned in proving their mettle. Kudos to the Football Team!
