Students of K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II take part in Theatre Festival
At K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II, we firmly believe that the goal of education in current times is not to increase the amount of knowledge but to create possibilities for a child to invent and discover and to create learners who are capable of new things with unrelenting vigour and ardour. In pursuit of the same, the students of K.R Mangalam World School, G.K-II participated in the Children Theatre Festival organized by “Three Arts Club” at Sriram Centre on 10 Nov 2017. Our school was represented by a group of 20 youthful pupils (artists) staging a play titled as “Aetihasik Balidan”. The children received an overwhelming response from one and all present there.
STEPPING THE LADDER OF SUCCESS!!!
An Inter School Team Competition of Creativity, Quick Decision Making and Problem Solving was held in the month of May in order to test the spontaneity, creativity and logical understanding of the students given a constrained environment.
The selected winner students of K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II had the opportunity to compete in the Creativity Decathlon Global Finals hosted by the Korean Association of Creativity Education sponsored by Ajou University in Seoul, in the month of August, 2017. K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II made a mark in the event with three students namely, Angad of class VII, Akshay and Ravyaraj of class VI bagging the First position and indeed adding another plume to the saga of our success. The Principal Ms Alka Awasthi congratulated the students for bringing laurels to school.
ROAD SAFETY WEEK-BETTER LATE THAN NEVER
K.R. Mangalam World School took the initiative to create Road Safety Awareness in collaboration with Delhi Traffic Police by organizing a Debate Competition in the school premises on 17 October, 2017 to ensure that individuals are well informed about the rules they should adhere to while commuting on the roads. The Debate Competition was held for classes VI-VIII on the topic, “Road safety education is very essential in inculcating good safety habits among people.” This was a part of the School Road Safety Awareness Campaign 2017-18 organized by Delhi Traffic Police.
Teachers’ Day Celebrations at K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K- II
“Teachers play an extraordinary part in the lives of children during the formative years of their development and the importance of teachers is something that cannot be understated.” The same was reflected on the occasion of Teachers’ Day at K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K- II.
The students expressed their gratitude for their teachers by setting the stage on fire with their performance. The Student Council commenced the many spectacles planned for the day and showcased some stellar dance performances staged by the students of the Junior, Middle and Senior School classes. The function commenced with entertaining classical music, followed by some peppy Bollywood and Hollywood numbers. The performances left the audience spellbound.
To mark the auspicious day, the Principal, Ms Alka Awasthi, exhorted the role of teachers for the holistic development of the students and also commended the efforts of every teacher for the meticulous effort they selflessly put in every day.
K.R. MANGALAM WORLD SCHOOL OBSERVES INVESTITURE CEREMONY AND INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS
K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II observed the Investiture Ceremony and Independence Day for the session 2017-18 on 12 August 2017. The Investiture Ceremony is a solemn occasion where all the young students are prepared to don the mantle of leadership and discharge the responsibilities entrusted upon them by the school. Our school acknowledged the budding young leaders and reposed the trust in them.
The occasion was graced by the benign presence of Sh Rajinder Kashyap, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice. The ceremony began with the unfurling of the National Flag followed by the ceremonial lighting of the auspicious lamp. To ignite in our hearts the passion of patriotism, a mesmerizing rendition by the bards of the school filled the Amphitheatre with patriotic fervor. The Principal Ms. Alka Awasthi welcomed the gathering and motivated the students to strive harder with a unified zeal for the betterment of the institution. She also stressed on setting priorities and aiming high. The council members and prefects marched spritely and majestically in sync with the beating of the drums to receive their badges .The captains and the prefects administered the oath with a promise that they would carry out their duties with integrity, faith and excellence. The Chief Guest congratulated the newly elected members and emphasised on the need to be humble while holding responsibilities. A resplendent skit by the students of Class XI raised the spirit of nationalism among the audience.
The program culminated with the Senior School Coordinator, Ms. Ritu Sachdeva proposing the Vote of Thanks.
ELOQUENCE 2K17- THE INTER SCHOOL ENGLISH LITERARY EVENT
K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II, organized the English literary fiesta ‘Eloquence’, on 28, July 2017.The event which was held for classes II to XII offered multifarious activities to bring out the creative and scholastic skills of the students.
The ceremony commenced with the invocation of the Almighty followed by the welcome address of the Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi. In her address to the audience, the Principal emphasized on the importance of English language which grows out of realities of life. The ingenious students from classes II-V were delighted to participate in events like ‘Exhomania’ and ‘Tryst with Shakespeare.’ It was indeed a pleasure to see the young ones reach out to their literary genius’ and polish their talents to paint a moment of their own imagination in the canvas of their life. The students from classes VI-XII were given an opportunity to reveal their bright and creative ideas through ‘Tramedy and Hot Pursuit’ where they mesmerized the gathering with their oratory skills vociferously reinterpreting the titles of famous literary classics in a fiery and sensational manner.
The event saw the participation of more than 27 schools from Delhi and NCR. The esteemed panel of judges included writers and literary gems who have distinguished themselves in their respective fields.
The plethora of talent left one and all spellbound. The commendable performance was highly appreciated. The vote of thanks was delivered by the Senior School Coordinator,Ms.Ritu Sachdeva. The overall trophy was shared by K.R.Mangalam World School,G.K-II and Indraprastha School, Noida. An outstanding platform was provided by KR Mangalam World Schjool, G.K- II to the students enabling their artistic presentation to come to the fore.
KRMUN 2K17-DAY 2
The Day 2 of the KRMUN 2K17 was organised on 15 July, 2017 at K.R Mangalam World School, G.K-II.
The students took up innumerable issues such as, Eurozone Crisis, Proliferation of Nuclear weapons, use of mercenaries, socio economic issues, 1971 Bangladesh Crisis. The following committees are being seen in action like the SVR, NSG, UNHRC, IDA, JCC and UNSC. It was indeed fascinating to see various committees at work. One could find the first timers as well as the most experienced ones in the committees. On entering the rooms, delegates were found arguing, working and drawing inferences for the attention of the Chairs. Many delegates cleared their doubts by continuously shooting questions at the Executive Board which were answered to their content. The committees also broke into three breaks to join their work henceforth. The committees revolved around their agendas which were solved to some extent.
KRMUN 2K17-THE FIFTH EDITION
The first day of the fifth edition of the KRMUN 2K17 was organised on 14 July, 2017 at K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II. Lt. Gen Sudhir Sharma, PVSM,AVSM,YSM,VSM (Retd), Chairman Mitkat Advisory Pvt Ltd graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Ms Ruchira Gujral, Corporate Specialist, UNICEF India presided over as the Guest Speaker for the inaugural ceremony. The ceremony began with the invocation of the Almighty and the lighting of the lamp followed by the welcome speech of the Principal Ms. Alka Awasthi. The Principal, in her address to the audience emphasised on the need to have nations to willingly cooperate to a system of governance that prevents warfare and promote world peace. A spellbinding Music and fusion dance performance won applauds from one and all. The Guests, exhorted on issues of adolescent empowerment and participation in building the nation.
Around 350 delegates from Delhi/ NCR conglomerated to role-play delegates to the United Nations and stimulate UN committees. It is an opportunity where students learn to be diplomatic and deal with phantom international crisis, offer suggestions and find amiable solutions.
