ANNUAL CONFERENCE HELD BY THE ACTION COMMITTEE
The Action Committee held its Annual Conference on Saturday, 17 December 2016, at the India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road.
Action Committee is the umbrella organization of all the reputed associations of private recognized unaided schools. It represents more than 500 schools in Delhi. This committee has been working to protect, safeguard and uplift the interests of the Private Unaided recognized schools in Delhi.
The conference began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp followed by the welcome address by Mr. S.K. Bhatacharya, President Action Committee. A mellifluous rendition, ‘Bolo-Bolo Milke Bolo,’ by the students of Manavsthali School, set the tone for the proceedings.
Mr. Vijay Goel, Union Minister, Govt. of India, addressed the august gathering and promised that the Govt. Stadiums will soon be made available to schools for organizing school Annual Functions and Sports Days. Mr. Vijay Goel also updated that a memorable Sports Event called, ‘Khel Khelo India’ is proposed to be held on 21st January, 2017, which is expected to have about sixty thousand student participants. He emphasized that education should be clubbed with sports for the holistic development of a child.
Principals and Teachers from various schools were conferred with awards.
The panelists of the Action Committee along with eminent speakers and Principals from some of the reputed schools of Delhi expressed their views on self regulatory mechanisms and processes to be taken up by the Action Committee for the betterment of Unaided Recognized Pvt. Schools.
The conference concluded with the National Anthem.
THE DISCERNING EYE OF ROHIL CHANDNA
K.R Mangalam World School, G.K-II believes that education cannot be confined to the four walls of the classroom and one should strike on new paths to explore new wonders. The school takes pride in stating that Rohil Chandna of Class XII has been awarded ‘India’s Best Teenage Photographer’ in Photomarathon organized by Canon. The felicitation ceremony was held in Germany where budding photographers from all over the world participated.

JUNIOR SCHOOL SPORTS EXTRAVAGANZA- GATI ….EK UDAAN
K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II organised its Annual Cultural Sports Splendor ‘Gati-Ek Udaan…a fusion of vigor , celebration and euphoria, on 2 December, 2016.The occasion was graced by the benign presence of, Mohammad Azharuddin, former Indian Cricket Captain and politician, the Chief Guest of the day, Shri Yash Dev Gupta, Chairman ,K.R. Mangalam Group of Schools ,Shri Jai Dev Gupta, Vice Chairman, K.R. Mangalam Group of Schools, Shri Inder Dev Gupta, Member of the school management committee. The spirit of harmony and togetherness engulfed the atmosphere with the vibrating rendition of the young stars as they presented the musical encomium, ‘Udd Chale Parindey’. The stage set the right tone and atmosphere with a concoction of the popular dance forms presented by the Pre-Primary students. Extending a warm welcome to all the distinguished guests, the Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi, congratulated and encouraged the vivacious learners for putting up such a spectacular show .She also accentuated that real learning is the amalgamation of education with sports. This was followed by an athletic act ‘Pomping the Pom’ where the tiny tots showcased their prowess and poise as they synchronized the beat of the pom poms to the rhythm of music, which indeed left the audience spell-bound. The fearless fighters with their strong punches and high kicks proved their mettle by displaying varied acts of self-defense. The spectacle created by the bustling butterflies as they spread their vibrant hues was indeed breathtaking. This was followed by an energetic yoga performance ‘Abhyantara-The art of well-being’, performed by the students of class II. Various track events like Sack Race, Umbrella Race , Dress Up Race etc. were held wherein the young athletes of KRM showed their undaunting spirit and emerged victorious among their peers .This was followed by a scintillating dance performance ‘Mother Earth–Hamari Maa’, where the students paid a tribute to the planet Earth and it won an unceasing applause from the audience. The most riveting performance was the grand finale as the charismatic ingenious ethos of India ‘Dharohar –A Legacy’ was splendidly presented by the young learners and it was a thrilling visual treat. The function culminated with the much awaited prize distribution ceremony wherein the worthy Chief Guest bestowed the prizes to the most deserving athletes and meritorious students and motivated all to keep on persevering with sincere endeavors. The Chief Guest Mohammad Azharuddin addressed the gathering with his motivating words and emphasized on the need to keep abreast with the change in order to become a global citizen. The programme culminated with the Pre Primary Coordinators , proposing the vote of thanks.
INTER HOUSE CRICKET MATCH
The importance of sports encompasses more than just the benefit of physical activity. It helps in enhancing self esteem and mental alertness among students. Also, it teaches punctuality, discipline and teamwork.
Keeping this in mind, K.R Mangalam World School, G.K- II organized an Inter House Cricket Match for the students of classes IX-XI in the premises of the school.
The matches were played between the four Houses-Sapphire, Ruby, Topaz and Emerald. The final match was played between the students of Topaz House and Emerald House on 18 November 2016.
All decked up to prove their mettle. The enthusiastic crowd experienced a thrilling performance with the two teams exhibiting their best in the limited eight over match. The final match exhibited sportsmanship from both the team with victory falling into the lap of Topaz house. While the winners were cheered, the efforts of the runners up were equally appreciated. Both the teams presented an impressive show.
K.R. MANGALAM WORLD SCHOOL, G.K-II HOLDS CLEANLINESS DRIVE
K.R.Mangalam World School, G.K-II realizes the urgent need to create awareness among its students to address issues of personal hygiene and public sanitation conditions. With this objective in mind, the school organized ‘Clean Your Surroundings Campaign’ on 30 September, 2016 during the school hours in collaboration with NDTV India . Under the watchful and able guidance of the Principal, Ms Alka Awasthi, the students cleaned the nooks and corners of their school and the immediate vicinity. The drive was one of the many steps taken by the school towards India’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiated by our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Sh Narendra Modi. The students were given brooms and wastebaskets to clean their surroundings. The teachers also contributed unreservedly and led by example. The endeavor met with appreciation and laurels by one and all. The NDTV channel also fortified the effort by telecasting the entire campaign on air on the 2 October, 2016, thereby giving the Father of the nation a befitting tribute.
Tree Plantation Drive
“Plant a Tree…………Live a Dream”
Fifteen students from classes VII – X embarked on a tree plantation drive on 6 August, 2016 at the Jahanpanah City Forest.
This drive was initiated by the local MLA Mr. Saurabh Bharadwaj who interacted with the people of his constituency while making them aware of social issues such as the importance of planting more trees and keeping our city clean and green.
The students greatly benefitted from this experience. Not only did they understand the importance of larger issues like planting more trees in our city, but they were also enriched by the experience of having interacted with a young and dynamic personality as Mr. Bharadwaj. They closely witnessed and had a glimpse of the life and work of the humble Gardener. The students also realized that they are not alone as a unit in their school but a part of a larger community with their neighborhood and surroundings.
AVIRAM TARANG- THE TALENT FIESTA
The school premises of K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K–II, was abuzz with great zeal, exhilaration and frolicsome ambience, as Classes II to V organized, the Annual Inter School Talent Fiesta – “Aviram Tarang”. The programme commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp, followed by Ganesh Vandana, a dance recital to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha. The event was graced by the presence of the Educational Advisor, Mr. V.C. Pachauri and a panel of Eminent Judges, Experts in their respective fields. The Principal, Ms. Alka Awasthi enlightened the gathering and expressed her belief that every person is born with a talent and Talent Fiesta is an endeavour to give the young ones a platform to explore and unleash their inherent talent and hone their skills. The participants gave an enthralling performance and competed energetically with each other in the events – Sur Aradhana, which filled the aura with charismatic notes of spiritual mantras, chants and devotional songs. Fun Folds, where ingenious little fingers folded paper into a finished sculpture, beyond imagination. Twist-Tap-Turn, charming dancers with their scintillating performance took the audience by storm. Walk the Ramp, the toddlers dressed as International Personalities, with their poise and grace set the KRM isle on fire.
The event was a great success and received an overwhelming response from the participating schools.
Ms. Gunjan Singh, the academic Coordinator proposed the vote of thanks and lauded the efforts of the students for making the event a huge success.
