Decimal Representation on number line ( outdoor activity)
Class –VI

Age group- 12 years

Objective -To represent the Decimal  numbers on the number line.

To set  up this activity every student of class VI picked one card of decimals numbers. They drew a number line on floor and marked 0 , 1 ,2 ,3 ,4 …….at equal distance. Then they divided the space between every pair of consecutive integers (on number line)in ten equal parts.

One student picked a card of 6.9 to represent 6.9 on number line. He knew that this number lies between 6 and 7 so he walked on number line and stop on 9th part from the right side of 6. As shown below.

Maths Outdoor Acitvity_1Another student picked a card of 2.2 to represent 2.2 on number line. He knew that this number lies between 2 and 3 so he walked on number line and stop on 2nd part from the right side of 2. As shown below.

Term I came to an end with a joyful celebration of festivities.On this occasion special assembly was organized which included cultural presentation on Navratri and Dusshera.

 “A Mother is she who can take the place of all others, but whose place no one else can take”

Mother’s day is a special day, for all children and mothers as, it celebrates the bond of love and affection that is everlasting. Mothers are the emotional backbone of the family, who have the magic touch to heal all wounds and make all things beautiful.

The students of K.R.Mangalam World School, Greater Noida hosted their mothers on this special occasion. The event was held on 12th of May, as mothers were specially invited to spend a memorable day filled with activities and fun. A host of performances were planned to honor and appreciate all mothers. The venue was aptly decorated in keeping with the theme. Attractive boards displaying the creativity of children were also displayed. Mother’s day cards, messages and photographs all adorned the venue.

Parents were entertained by myriad presentations by the juniors and seniors. Rhyme recitations , songs, dance performances and story enactments,  mesmerized the audience, as the children put their best foot forward. All performances exalted the mother as God, teacher, friend , philosopher and guide and emphasised the truth that a mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world.

‘Letters of Love’ written by the junior students, for their mothers were also distributed .The day ended with all mothers and children, enjoying themselves and taking back fond memories of a day well spent.


‘CONNECT 2016’-An Exhibition cum Cultural Presentation

At K.R Mangalam World School, we believe that School is much more than a place where one learns concepts and acquire facts. School is a place where efforts brew to build foundations for nurturing outstanding citizens with strong beliefs and therefore character building and all round development of each individual is an essential adjunct of all academic attainment.

School remained eventful as ever as our students participated a host of activities and events. ‘CONNECT 2016’ held on 24th December 2016 in the school premises apart from creating a positive reflective ethos also provided an opportunity for parents to participate in their ward’s education.

The School exhibition comprising of models and displays by Robotics, Abacus and Astronomy club actively involved the parents in assessing their skills through the medium of interactive games. The Subject activities further attracted the active participation of the parents.

‘CONNECT 2016’ was organized with the motto that audio visual aids in learning helps reinforce any form of verbal messages  and helps to stimulate the minds of learners. This theme was effectively conveyed through the support materials used in various subjects to optimize student interest and maximize student performance and knowledge.

The cultural program commenced with the welcome song and a dance performed by the students. Poem enactment and thought provoking issue related performances like save earth which were enacted by the gleaming mangalites, rendered the spectators mesmerized.

Principal Ms. Nandini Shekhar appreciated the Students and the teachers for the able execution of ‘CONNECT 2016’. She also shared her views regarding the various programs that School initiates for the overall well being of students and thanked parents and Grandparents for bestowing their trust on the institution by assembling in large number.

Scholar Badge and Investiture Ceremony

K.R.Mangalam‘s Motto, ‘Together Towards Tomorrow’ signifies the School’s focus to recognize, foster and appreciate the talent of every child .The Institution takes pride in providing its students with infinite opportunities that allow them to bloom into confident and responsible individuals .This is achieved through numerous avenues that boost their knowledge , enhance their skill and develop their personality.

Therefore as a culmination of all efforts, the students of the school were honoured for their achievements on August 12, 2017 at K.R.Mangalam World School Greater Noida.The Scholar Badge ceremony felicitated students both in the academic and co curricular domains.

The Chief Guest of the day was Air commodore C.M Mundapi who with his visionary outlook has been championing the cause of education throughout his career.He felicitated the achievers with badges,trophies and certificates.

Principal Ms.Nandini Shekhar congratulated the achievers of the session and motivated the students that they have to take the institution to greater height with the sincere and dedicated approach.

Enchante 2017

Encouraging  young minds to explore new potentials by awakening their passion and cultivating their talents has always been our endevour at K.R Mangalam World School Greater Noida. With the purpose of empowering students to face new global challenges the school provides a positive learning environment with unlimited opportunities to promote creative expression and hone individual skills.

The celebration of its annual inter -school fiesta , ‘Enchante’, is one such platform where students learn to compete in various events, exhibiting their true potential. This year too, the thrill of participation and the irresistible spirit of winning were witnessed in ‘ Enchante 2017’ the unique  inter-school extravaganza organized on 11 August 2017, by K.R.Mangalam World school, Greater Noida.

The medley of events had the school pulsating with creativity and talent as the participants put their best foot forward. As many as twelve events were organized. Some of the competitions hosted were- animation in action, show and tell,virus enactment, debate, tableau, vocab- wizard, Pensiever, tribal art, coaster designing, patriotic song competition, bhav pallavan and masquerade .

Around three hundred  students from various schools of Greater Noida  participated enthusiastically with an  inner zest and a desire to excel. The school witnessed some outstanding performances, as the students put their best foot forward. The winners were felicitated with trophies and certificates.

Yellow Color Day and Mango Day

Yellow Color Day and Mango Day were celebrated in School on 20.07.17 to make the children aware of the things associated with color yellow.The fun filled day witnessed the students involved in array of activities including coloring,sorting and recognizing.The faces of the student gleamed like daffodils when they were treated with the king of fruits ‘Mango’.

 The Orientation Ceremony

The Orientation Ceremony for the new session 2017 -18 was held at K.R. Mangalam, Greater Noida on the 29th of March. The solemn occasion was initiated with the lighting of the auspicious  lamp.

The Principal ,Ms. Nandini Shekhar ,welcomed the parents and briefed them about the vision and philosophy of the school. The parents were informed about the curriculum and the rules & regulations of the school. Details of the various extra-curricular activities that take place the whole year, were also provided along with the functions and celebrations conducted in the school. She also emphasized how the family-school partnership improves student motivation and learning.

After the general orientation , Parents of the pre-pimary section were directed to the junior wing where the teachers of the pre-primary section briefed the parents about the various activity –based teaching  methods that the school employs, making learning a fun experience.

The orientation for the rest of the school was conducted by the respective subject coordinators. The first part of the orientation  dealt with the various approaches employed in the classroom allowing each child to learn in a holistic and enriching manner .Through an informative PowerPoint presentation, The Collaborative approach, the Multi-disciplinary approach, Project-based learning and Inter-disciplinary approaches were all detailed. The application of Multiple intelligences into the teacher-learning process was also explained to the parents.

The second part of the orientation  dealt with the Assessment policy of the school. The examination pattern and the methods of evaluating academic performances were also elaborated.

The day ended with the promise that the school and parents, both well wishers and extended family of the students, would  work together to ensure that the little buds of KRM  bloom into beautiful flowers.
