Times NIE Student of the Year Award 2017
It’s a moment of pride for K.R. Mangalam World School, Gurgaon as Arjun Singh of class XI bagged the prestigious Times NIE Student of the Year Award 2017. Arjun was nominated by the school along with other top scorers. The award was given on the basis of the academic performance, extracurricular activities and overall personality of the student. Arjun had been constantly inspiring his juniors in the school as he is voracious chess player and has participated in various State and National Level Championships. He started playing chess right from his childhood and is currently the Gurgaon District Under–15 Champion. He was the Second Runners Up in Haryana State Under-15 Championship 2015 and represented Haryana in the team event organised by the School Games Federation Of India National Tournament, 2015 in the under-17 category held in Salem, Karnataka. He secured the 19th position in the National Schools Chess Championship 2015 which was held in Goa in January this year.
Arjun also stood 10th in the Commonwealth chess championship 2015 and 2016 in the Under 16 category. His hobbies include playing the guitar, drums and singing. He is also a brilliant student and achieved a perfect CGPA 10 in class X. Arjun is also a part of the School Student Council as the Sports Advisor.
The school Principal Ms Priya Arora congratulated Arjun on his achievements and wished him good luck for all his future endeavours. The school is also thankful to Times NIE for recognising the talent of the students each year and for boosting the morale of our young achievers.

Mangalam Workld School, Gurgaon proudly announces that the paper presented by the Science faculty members, Ms Puneeta Malhotra and Ms Meenakshi Chawla, at the International Conference on Value and Peace Education, has been selected. The paper is based on the efforts carried out by K R Mangalam World School to highlight and counsel students on upholding moral values which are of utmost importance in contemporary times. The school has successfully amalgamated value education through a set of activities into the subject curriculum.
