WORKSHOP ON NON CONVENTIONAL CAREER OPTIONS FOR CLASSES X-XII
The students of grade 10th -12th attended a workshop hosted by Mr. Love Jain, in collaboration with The Times of India, on Monday, 25th September, 2017. Mr. Jain was a very interesting personality who enlightened us with his unique perspective on life.
He discussed off beat careers and how one can stand out by choosing those careers. He mentioned how his son skipped one year of schooling to follow his passion for music & has reached a decent level in the field of music in the past three years.
The importance of starting early was elucidated in the workshop. His main mantra revolved around the fact that “early bird catches the worm”.
He also emphasized the importance of developing one’s interest as well as assessing aptitude and decision making process. He exclaimed that we are the ones who choose our careers and even though deciding on one interest is difficult, it is an essential step in making sure we end up where we are happy and satisfied.
Mr. Jain also displayed a powerful presentation in which he dissolved many myths rampant in our society. An example he gave was how people frown upon men becoming designers, even though there are many famous designers around the world.
Overall, the workshop made us realize that exploration is essential in life and we should not follow societal stereotypes when deciding our career.
