‘WORKSHOP ON ADOLESCENT HEALTH AND RELATIONSHIP’

K.R. Mangalam World School Faridabad organised an interactive session on ‘Adolescent Health And Relationship’ on 16 August 2019 within the school premises. The participants of the workshop (about 30) included female students from the grades VI-VIII. The aim of the workshop was to sensitize and orient the students about adolescent problems and associated issues, need and relevance of reproductive health education, crucial role of teachers, peers and parents in handling the issue in a sensitive manner. The workshop was aimed to facilitate awareness and knowledge among students with particular focus on adolescent’s need and bridging the information gap. Dr. Chanchal Gupta, Sr consultant gynaecologist associated with QRG Hospital in Faridabad presided over the session. The workshop, started with an introductory remark followed by felicitation. Through a presentation, Dr. Gupta advocated the need to increase the knowledge and understanding of adolescent health concerns, particularly reproductive and sexual health emphasising on gender sensitivity and the right perspective.
