Most governments around the world have temporarily closed educational institutions in an attempt to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, education has changed dramatically with the distinctive rise of e-learning whereby teaching is undertaken on digital platforms. K.R. Mangalam World School also sprung into action and using MS Teams for online classes.
Online learning should not be limited to video lectures and written assignments. We are constructing activities for the students that will stimulate their minds and keep them interested. Students actively and enthusiastically participated in various activities this week. The major highlight being the music classes where the students were not only made to sing but were also taught about the basics of the musical instruments. In the French class, students were given information about the French meals with the help of an attractive presentation.
Assessment is a critical step in the learning process. It determines whether or not the course’s learning objectives have been met. It creates feedback which is used to improve student’s performance. Students become more involved in the learning process and gain confidence in what they are expected to learn. In order to assess the student’s learning, we, at K. R. Mangalam World School conducted online Unit Test for the students of classes VI-VIII from 23 November 2020. Now, the students seem more confident as they are used to the idea of giving exams on an online portal. Also, we are devoting some time to consider their values and interests. The better we knows our students, the better we can grab their attention.
