K.R. Mangalam World School, GKII deeply believes in the importance of Play for the emotional, social, cognitive and physical development of children. In pursuit of the same, Recreational Activities have been introduced in the daily curriculum.Simple, easy and fun activities setting the foundation for better learning and development in the young learners. The students of class II participated actively and enthusiasticallyin the fun filled session of warm up exercises and effortless body movements. They were energised and charged up for the entire day!

EARTH DAY REPORT

With the help of the ‘Virtual Classrooms’, the students of Class III enthusiastically participated in various activities to commemorate our benevolent ‘Mother Earth’ On the occasion of the Earth Day, an array of creative activities was organized with a view to motivate children to do their bit towards making their planet even more beautiful. The importance of the Earth Day was discussed and the students took a pledge to preserve and conserve their self-sustaining planet. Constructive activities like ‘Poster Making’, ‘Slogan Writing’ and ‘Show and Tell’ gave the students a platform to showcase their artistic and creative skills. With an aim to spread awareness amongst the young and old alike, students were engaged in all these fun-filled activities.

Nothing can deter the determination of teachers and staff of K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II to impart learning to its students. In the midst of Corona Virus outbreak, the school has introduced Online classes for primary school students and Classes X and XII to minimize the disruption to Children’s learning.
The school has used e-learning ways to deliver lessons to students where teachers and students participate daily in classes via Virtual learning. A schedule has been chalked out from 10 am to 12:30 pm on all working days in order to help students make use of lost time.

Believing in the same K.R. Mangalam World School, GK II planned a day full of learning and exploring for the Nursery students on Friday, 14 February,2020. Students were taken to the field to pluck spinach leaves from the spinach plant sown by the students themselves. They washed and dried the leaves and stirred the besan (flour) batter for the preparation of pakoras.
Throughout the activity students were seen completely engrossed as they learnt how to prepare soil and grow their own plants. It was an enriching experience for the students as it was learning by doing.

COMPETITION: Palate fest- NON FIRE COOKING

Children of class II participated in Palate Fest- Non Fire Cooking competition with great passion and excitement. Our young KRM chefs wore culinary paraphernalia like chef’s cap, aprons, gloves etc.while putting their creative and culinary talent to utmost use. They rustled up delicious gourmet delights and stirred up refreshing mocktails. The students showcased their artistic ability and aptitude by preparing their dishes with paramount concentration and attention. Food items such as pasta salad, chocolate balls, golgappa chaat, rainbow sandwiches etc. were beautifully decorated and presented. They enjoyed devouring their friend’s tasty food creation faster than the speed of lighting!
The experience of creating a delicious dish all by themselves gave the little KRM ites a sense of accomplishment, achievement and build self-confidence.

The culinary adventure was a good learning experience for our young ones. The activity helped to lay the foundation for healthy eating habits.

K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-2 believes in encouraging students to learn and apply skills through an engaging hands on experience. Keeping this in mind, an activity of making and decorating mufflers was conducted on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 for all sections of KG classes. It is a part of Project Based Learning on the topic “ States of India”. Under this the state of Punjab was highlighted as the largest producer of wooden textiles.It was a fun filled activity for the students.

The Eco Club students of K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K. II carried out an anti cracker campaign on October 25, 2019 for spreading awareness amongst peers, fellow students , teachers and staff members about the harmful consequences of bursting fire crackers in our daily lives. Students spoke on how our pets, our grand parents , babies are affected by the bursting of crackers. They also explained how the AQI (Air Quality Index) deteriorates by the reckless bursting of crackers.

INTER- HOUSE COMPETITIONS
The World of imagination is boundless.

Inter- House Competitions paves the way for our students to rejuvenate their spirits, remain rooted to the moral values and unleash their vitality.On 19 October 2019,various Inter- House Competitions were held within the school premises.The well planned competitions were conducted, focusing on brushing up students’ talents. Each child was given the opportunity and the platform to display his/her talent and present themselves as individuals.

Guided by their mentors,the competitions included ‘Slogan Writing’ in which Sapphire house bagged the first position.Another competition titled ‘Poster Making’in which first positionwas won by Topaz houseand ‘Essay Writing’ in which Sapphire house won the first position. These competitions developed a feeling of affiliation and unity among students.

The importance of advertisementsin the present times is immense. It is a method that is used to attract people’s attention. It is an important and simple procedure for companies to make themselves known amongst the public. We come across advertisements through certain mediums like newspapers, magazines, billboard, buses, internet, and on the radio, flyers, newsletters or posters.

Students of the four houses were engaged in advertisement making activity. They had a first-hand experience in advertisement not just in making the advertisement but also enacting the same in order to appeal the public.
