The tiny tots of Class I of K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II showcased their creativity through various activities over the week. It was amazing to see them using origami techniques to create beautiful sunflowers with paper folding. They made some lovely and colourful roses with playdough. They showed their imagination and creativity through a beautiful scenery on paper. The assemblies of Class IA, IB and IC were conducted. The students performed the same with great zeal and enthusiasm. Students spoke with full confidence. An experiment was conducted where in the children showed the use of turmeric as an indicator.

Science does not involve only textbook exercises,  but it also involves in developing skills and scientific temperament. Keeping the above quote in mind, the students of class III made a working model of the breathing system, as part of the chapter – Your Busy Body. The students used materials which were easily available at home like plastic bottle, a pair of angular straws and balloons, cello tape, and created a pair of lungs. This activity explained the process ofInhalation and exhalation which was well demonstrated through this hands-on activity, which provided an experiential learning set-up, to the young minds.

In SST, the students did an activity during the study of the  chapter- Indian villages wherein they drew and pasted colourful pictures and spoke about how the village life is way different from the city life. It was indeed a fun-filled way of learning. 

A few minutes of Yoga during the day can be a great way to get rid of stress, anxiety and also declutters the body and the mind. The Students enjoyed their Yoga session and performed tadasana, tree pose, and Surya Namaskar. In the Physical Training class, the students performed a plethora of  stretching and warm up exercises which was followed by some balance exercises.

Life skills develops social, personal and emotional skills which helps in laying a strong foundation. The students of classes IV and V started their life skills session with a “Mindful check” which inculcates an  individual’s experience in present moment by narrowing attention to the breath and expanding their awareness while engaging oneself in deep breathing. The students were later shown a video and they also had a discussion wherein they shared their different perspectives. The session ended with a mindful check out. The session was indeed very interesting and the students enjoyed it to the fullest.

“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow. “

Class Nursery-F of K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II presented a special assembly on December 1, 2020 on the topic “Out in the Garden.”Aliza led the assembly by giving a brief introduction on plants followed by her classmates who, by turn spoke about the importance of plants.
The students effectively conveyed the message through a small skit and spoke confidently. The assembly concluded with a short rhyme “Out in the Garden “sung by the kids.

It was a good learning experience for the children where every child was involved. It was once again proved that when students, teachers and parents work together they surely create masterpieces.

The students of Class I of K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II showcased their creativity through various activities over the week. It was fun to see them using origami technique to create beautiful crabs and bears with paper folding. They made their own abacus with the help of the teacher to understand the concept of Place Value. They also made the national bird and national animal of the country with cut outs of their hands. Students even assembled a few shapes to create beautiful figures on paper. They did a Pre and Post worksheet after their virtual visit to Aerospace. An experiment was conducted where the children showed that ice cubes can be lifted easily with a cotton string immersed in salt.

Most governments around the world have temporarily closed educational institutions in an attempt to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, education has changed dramatically with the distinctive rise of e-learning whereby teaching is undertaken on digital platforms. K.R. Mangalam World School also sprung into action and using MS Teams for online classes.

Online learning should not be limited to video lectures and written assignments. We are constructing activities for the students that will stimulate their minds and keep them interested.  Students actively and enthusiastically participated in various activities this week. The major highlight being the music classes where the students were not only made to sing but were also taught about the basics of the musical instruments. In the French class, students were given information about the French meals with the help of an attractive presentation.

Assessment is a critical step in the learning process. It determines whether or not the course’s learning objectives have been met. It creates feedback which is used to improve student’s performance. Students become more involved in the learning process and gain confidence in what they are expected to learn. In order to assess the student’s learning, we, at K. R. Mangalam World School conducted online Unit Test for the students of classes VI-VIII from 23 November 2020. Now, the students seem more confident as they are used to the idea of giving exams on an online portal. Also, we are devoting some time to consider their values and interests. The better we knows our students, the better we can grab their attention.

“Good habits will open doors that even the best education cannot.

With this thought Nursery-E students of K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K-II presented a beautiful assembly to sensitize the children about the importance of “Good Habits”.
They emphasized on the fact that one becomes what she/he repeatedly does, so if we form good habits we follow good.
The students effectively conveyed the message through a small skit and spoke about good habits. It was a delight to watch the children confidently speaking their lines.
All in all, the assembly was conducted smoothly and the audience was absorbed by the flawless performance of the students.

At K.R Mangalam World School, GK-II, we promote a classroom of thinkers who would have the courage and conviction to lead the world with their insight, competency, caliber and impeccable values. Keeping the above motto in mind, our mirthful young learners instilled a plethora of ideas and enjoyed their online classes by gaining deeper understanding, that is more integrated.

The students of III enthusiastically presented the very first virtual ‘ISA Culmination.’ The function was presided over by the chief guest Mr. RomitManchanda who is a senior head chef at Hilton, Istanbul. Our Principal, Dr. Sangeeta Arora, Mr. Abhishek Gupta and Mrs. Puja Gupta, member of management, K.R.M Group of Schools. The presentation encompassed on Food preferences. Food around the world and its social determinants. Famous cuisines of three stipulated countries- Mexico, Japan and India were presented where in the students were enthralled in performing famous dances, describing their respective country’s nutritive value, calorific value, native cuisine and also highlighted the importance, benefits through a show n tell performance. The young angels coordinated with everything so charmingly via our virtual mode. It was a feast to eyes to watch our beloved budding kids acting and presenting like fountainheads of knowledge expounding about various cuisines even at this difficult scenario. The entire program stimulated their imagination and proved vital for the students in understanding cultural diversity of the different cuisines. It was indeed an enthralling culmination which not only ignited their mind, but also helped in acquiring proficiency about famous cuisines of various countries.

Keeping in mind the ISA theme – ‘Think Blue, Bust life blues’, the students of class IV were sensitized about the issue of Groundwater Depletion. A PowerPoint presentation was shown in the class in order to explain all about groundwater like “ What do you mean by ground water” and data of 2016-17 and 2018-19 were discussed in the class.

On the other hand, German learners of class V learnt different kinds of professions in German language. A video was shown to the students for learning the correct pronunciation and understand the same in a better and simple way. In mathematics, the students also learnt the meaning of Fractions, Types of fractions and Concept of equivalent fractions with the help of a video and various hands on activities conducted during the online Math sessions. Recreational activities like Chess , Art , Music etc happening on a daily basis to further supplement the Teaching Learning process. Students enjoyed learning the traditional folk song of Maharashtra during the music sessions to further help them rejuvenate.

Competitions brings out the best talent hidden inside you. Students of Class V participated in the online Inter School events too and Zuha Quereshi of 5B won the 2nd prize in the Poster Design event conducted at Apeejay School.

Life skills have been imparted on a regular basis to help nurture the students and fill in a positive attitude amongst them. The students of class III, IV and V began with a mindful check-in for 2-5 minutes by feeling one’s body and mind while focusing on sound and thoughts. The prime objective was to involve students practicality in mindful listening and seeing. To do so, students were asked reflective questions on when and where have they observed themselves behaving mindfully and what are the areas which they would like to focus. By the end of the first session, they were acquainted with mindful listening. The session ended with a mind full check out (deep breathings) making them feel relaxed.

Since the COVID -19 pandemic has disrupted the normal lifestyle of people across the globe, the virtual world has come to the rescue. Amongst many institutions schools also shifted their base to virtual platforms to conduct classes online.

At K. R Mangalam World School, G.K-II there are several ways teachers are utilizing the technology and resources already available to support online learning and ensuring students still receive a quality education. They are playing a pivotal role in becoming designers and active creators of activities for the students while putting technology in the hands of students in a constructive way for knowledge creation and not just for passive consumption. Students are taking the initiative and developing their own voice as they learn through activities, working on their own and also in collaboration with peers. Teachers are constantly encouraging their students to be active members of the class by allowing them to think and perform on their own.

Introducing an online activity to a class offers many benefits to students. With a little out-of-the box thinking, teachers are constructing activities for the students that is both, stimulating their minds and keeping them engaged. Various mathematical concepts were introduced using activities in classes VI-VIII. The students not only enjoyed doing the paper cutting activity but they were amazed as they were able toderive formulas on their own. In class VI, comparing, addition and subtraction of fractions was introduced to the students with the help of an activity. In class VII, some laws of exponents were discussed using paper folding method. In class VIII, students derived various identities using the activity method.

Students enthusiastically participated in the activitiesand submitted their work on MS Teams.


The students of class II of K.R Mangalam World School, G.K-II participated whole heartedly in the ‘Best Out of Waste’ activity. The students, through this activity, learnt how seemingly useless items or things can be put to great use to make beautiful, creative and usable things. They learnt how things can be recycled and reused in different ways. The young enthusiasts creatively made beautiful things like bangle boxes, pen stands, wall decorations, etc. They also spoke a few lines on the same via virtual classrooms. The activity was a huge success and the students were extremely proud of their creations as they learnt wonderful things and also understood how to create or reuse things and present them beautifully.

As rightly said by Anthony J. D’Angelo, the educators at K.R. Mangalam World School, G.K. II aredetermined to continue imparting education with an indomitable spirit in spite of the global emergency-COVID-19. This mission of providing education, despite all barriers, has become a huge and an incredible accomplishment. This has been possible with the help of virtual classroom, interesting PPTs, enriching activities and other fruitful tasks, which the teachers have tailored according to the erudition of the pupils. The school is also successfully conducting tests through Microsoft Forms to assess the understanding of the topic across all the subjects.

The school also conducted numerous Online Inter-House Competitions where students partook in a plethora of activities like Solo Song, Article Writing, Extempore, Finger Painting, Movie-Making, Cold Cooking and many more other interesting activities. The passion and enthusiasm witnessed amongst the pupils was overwhelming.

Multifarious activities were held during the week wherein the students were motivated to write about the real life heroes who worked for the welfare and betterment of the nation. History activity on ‘From hunting gathering to growing food’ was also coveredduring online classes. The students were given a session on the concept and rules of ‘Active and Passive Voice’ in English which was made interesting with the help of PPT and videos. The motive was to make the understanding enriching and fun. In Science classes, children learnt about the nitrogen cycle, using the animated video. Not to forget the birthday wishes that our dear students receive on their special day. This gives us the opportunity to bond with them and become an integral part of one big KRM family.

Regular assessment of Homework and assignments are done to reiterate the concepts learnt during the classes.
