INTERHOUSE ENGLISH PLAY COMPETITION
With the aim to foster a lifelong love for literature and develop dramatic skills among students, K R Mangalam World School organized the Inter-house Play Competition for the Senior school on 22 May 2018. The MPH of the school witnessed the kaleidoscope of power packed classic plays. The event commenced with the Lord’s prayer and the formal introduction of the esteemed judges. The competition was judged by Ms. Sapna Sharma and Ms. Bhawna Sharma, the acclaimed figures of K R Mangalam University. The competition had a veritable dramatic feast including Macbeth (Sapphire House), Mother’s Day (Emerald House), Dr. Faustus (Topaz House) and The Bishop Candlesticks (The Bishop’s Candlesticks). The exuberance among the budding actors and audience was palpable and the heartfelt support for the individual performer could be sensed by applauds and cheering. The vibrant and elaborate costumes and settings with handmade props infused the life into the characters. Some remarkable performances like Anny, Dr. Faustus, Macbeth and Bishop acquired the recognition from the audience as well as the judges. Some of the scenes were visually stunning, stark and elegant. The hall was packed to capacity and it was to credit the young performers.It was heartening to see the hard work put in by all the four houses. All the acts were well applauded and commendable. The students’ confidence, energy, acting and voice throw were the strength which was well depicted through the acts. The judges had unenviable task of selecting the winner team as all the teams had put up their best show to grab the rolling trophy of the winning team. Topaz House grabbed the first prize and the second prize was held by Sapphire House. The winning teams’ joy knew no bounds holding the trophies in their hands.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by the School Principal, she felicitated the judges and expressed her gratitude to them for giving their valuable time to the school. She also appreciated the hard work of the teachers and the students for showcasing a great show.
