“Amidst the rich harvest Across the lush greenery Baisakhi has arrived In all its majesty”
Festivals bring joy and happiness. Keeping up with the tradition of celebrating all the festivals with great fervor and gaiety and to acquaint the students with the rich culture and heritage of India, Baisakhi celebrations were held on 12 April 2019 in K.R Mangalam World School, Paschim Vihar with great zeal.
The school premises were aptly decorated depicting the harvest season. The children came dressed in traditional Punjabi colourful outfits with ornaments and accessories. Through open discussions, they were briefed about various aspects of this festival of harvest. A lot of theme based activities were planned for the Mangalites with the motive of helping children learn the significance of this special day.
In Pre- primary classes, children created beautiful kites by using their craft ideas. A PowerPoint presentation, highlighting the significance of Baisakhi was also shown to the students in their respective classrooms . Similarly, Pre-school children enjoyed colouring a ‘Dhol’ and they decorated it with their own creative way by using studs and stickers. The tiny tots had lots of fun and enjoyed dancing with their teachers and friends.
The teachers encouraged the children to enjoy and respect all festivals .
