“Dussehra, A Time to Rejoice The Victory Of Good Over Evil”
Festivals are a great way to understand the culture of a country. Children can be taught more about their traditions during festivals and celebrations. The lessons that they receive are even more valuable and long- lasting.
Keeping the festive spirit alive, K.R Mangalam World school Paschim Vihar celebrated Dussehra on 29 September 2022 with great enthusiasm and devotion. This popular Hindu festival marks the day on which Lord Rama defeated demon king Ravana. The celebration is to remember that the good and holy always wins over evil. Little Mangalites of Pre-school and KG classes dressed up as their favourite character from Ramayana like Rama, Lakshman, Sita, Ravana etc. and the activity was held in the classes in which they spoke about that characters. Their presentation was full of confidence and expressions. To explain the story as to why we celebrate Dussehra, teachers presented Ramayana on the stage. The significance and rituals of celebrating this festival was explained to the students to enhance their learning. Dandiya Party was also organised for the tiny-tots and their parents wherein they all participated whole-heartedly. The value of ‘Good Over Evil’ was imparted to the little learners. Each activity was fully enjoyed by the children..
The day ended leaving lots of sweet memories behind. The celebration was a learning experience for all and enriched the young ones about their rich heritage and culture.
