Gandhi Jayanti
Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated in India to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma GandhiJi, the most prominent leader of the Indian Independence struggle. A number of activities to depict the beliefs and principles of Mahatma Gandhi Jiwere conducted virtually by KRM PaschimViharto mark the importance of the occasion. The tiny tots of Nursery and KG performed ‘Shramdaan’ activity at home where teachers explained the meaning of “Shram” as labourand”daan” as contribution. To inculcate the feelings of Shramdaan among our students we encouraged them to clean their surroundings.The children assistedtheir parents to clean up their room furniture, shelves etcwith a duster. The motto of this activity was to create a sense of health & hygiene among them & make them self dependent at the same time. A circle time activity was also conducted wherein the kids shared their experiences of times when they have helped their family members in some house chores. Few little mangalites of KG dressed up as Mahatma Gandhi Jialso gave speech about his teachings and conveyed his noble messages in the most effective manner. The teachers laid stress on the value of speak no evil, hear no evil and see no evil – the prominent teaching of Mahatma GandhiJi. Students were exposed to the life and struggle of Mahatma Gandhi Jithrough an informative PPT with video clippings and slide shows of the great leader. Confident little commentators enlightened their peers with inspirational narration on the life of Mahatma GandhiJi which left us all spell bound. A mesmerizing song and dance performance were highlights of the online event. The day ended with a thought in everybody’s mind that cleanliness is next to Godliness and service to mankind is service to God. All the students wholeheartedly promised to keep their home and surroundings neat and clean.
