Global Handwashing Day
Washing your hands properly is the most effective way of preventing illness and the spreading of germs. Global Handwashing Day, is all about educating others on the importance of hand washing and promoting good hand hygiene amongst all. In current context of Covid-19, the importance of frequent hand washing with soap or using alcohol-based sanitizers, has been globally realized as one of the basic COVID-19 prevention measures.
To raise awareness on the importance of handwashing for children’s health and education, K.R. Mangalam World School, Paschim Vihar virtually celebrated Global Handwashing Day with great enthusiasm. Students were educated about personal hygiene and cleanliness through virtual discussions. Exciting and fun activities , enabled them to be active and generated their own insights about washing issues. A handwashing activity was organized for the little ones wherein the students were ready with their hand wash liquid and towels during their online session. Teachers explained the do’s and don’ts of hand hygiene. Students were taught virtually the steps of washing hands and to keep themselves healthy by cleaning hands regularly. Tiny tots were motivated to wash their hands before and after having their meals as dirty hands were the root cause of various diseases.
The session ended with a positive message and made handwashing with soap exciting for the young ones and turned into a habit.
