“WHEN GURU NANAK CAME THE MIST WENT AWAY AND THE WORLD SAW LIGHT”
Shri Guru Nanak, the first of the ten Sikh Gurus, has been known and believed to be a great mystic and saint. Sikhism was founded by him. The birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji is celebrated as Guru Nanak Jayanti or Guruparb across the globe with a lot of devotion and reverence. To remember his teachings and to spread the sacred message of submission to the will of the God among the little learners, K.R. Mangalam World School Paschim Vihar celebrated Guru Nanak Jayanti on 25 November 2020 in virtual classes.
Students were dressed up in traditional attires and their heads were covered with a handkerchief. Teachers apprised the students about the principles and teachings of the pious soul, Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Video on his life and spiritual journey was played for the students which reiterated the message ‘One God’ and the ‘Eternal Truth’. Teachers briefed about the childhood of Guruji and narrated few ‘sakhis’(stories) related to his life to the children. She also recited the Mool Mantra, the first hymn in the Guru Granth Sahib ‘Ik Onkar Satnam’ which was followed by the children. Few kids sung the ‘Shabad’ and created a calm atmosphere in the classes. A small discussion was also held about the Prabhat Pheri, Gurudwara visit and the Nagar Kirtan to make the students aware of the Sikh culture. The children were urged to follow the path of universal brotherhood and peace to promote national integration and communal harmony.
