India’s festivals reflect the country’s rich cultural abundance. Breaking the humdrum of daily routine, these festivals bring with them a wave of excitement, happiness and hope even in the most difficult times. The bonding between a brother and a sister is simply unique and is beyond description in words. The relationship between siblings is extraordinary and is given importance in every part of the world. Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi is a special occasion to celebrate this emotional bonding.
K.R.Mangalam World School, Paschim Vihar celebrated Rakshabandhan virtually with lots of love and happiness . The teachers familiarized the students with the customs and rituals followed on Raksha Bandhan. Several activities were organized for Nursery and Kg students to make them understand the true essence of this festival and the sacred relation of a brother and a sister. The little ones were dressed up in traditional attire for the celebration .The nursery students made attractive photo rakhis by pasting photographs of their brothers and sisters on their rakhis and Kg students’ decorated beautiful thalis using different creative materials. The teachers appreciated the efforts and creativity of all the children. The celebration conveyed the message of purity, unmatched bond of love, care and respect between siblings.
The new age Raksha bandhan emphasises both sisters and brothers protecting , helping and loving each other for a better tomorrow. The students participated and celebrated the festival with full zeal and enthusiasm.
