SPECIAL ASSEMBLY TOPIC – LABOUR DAY 2013
“One can do anything but not everything…So we need the support of people around us to achieve our goals.”
The pre-primary department of K.R.Mangalam World School Paschim Vihar celebrated Labour Day with gusto on 1 May 2013. The objective was to teach children about the importance and value of labour day. A special assembly was conducted by the students of class IF. There was hundred percent participation of the students.
Principal Ms. Meenu Kanwar, Primary In charge Ms. Shalini Kaul, our Assembly In charge Ms. Ramnik, Ms.Clive and the parents graced the assembly by giving their precious time and divine support.
Assembly was started with a welcoming note where the class teacher welcomed the parents. The Students presented the history of the labour day through their play – giving tribute to the working class, contributions to the strength, prosperity and well being . History of labour day dates back to May 1st 1886 depicts the working class who went on strike to defend their rights and to safeguard their interests
Students also expressed that everybody has to work to earn a living. A melodious song was also sung by the students to highlight the importance of literacy and education.
The students with their rhythmic steps magnificently showcased their dancing skills on
labour day song. Towards the end ,a student presented a beautiful poem laying emphasis on importance of labour in everybody’s life.
