“True health infuses positive energy in the mind , body and spirit, it is the main focus of our life.” Keeping in mind, these inspirational words and to emphasize the importance of healthy mind and body, K.R. Mangalam World School , Paschim Vihar organized a wellness session on the theme “Mind, Body and Soul” on 5 June 2021, Saturday. Our honourable principal ma’am, Ms. Priya Arora and the Pre-primary Incharge, Ms.Ramnik Kaur gave a warm welcome to the resource person Ms. Sonali Bhambhri, a yoga and wellness expert who addressed the parents during an informative session on how to keep our mind, body and soul in harmony with each other to face the challenges of COVID 3.0. The session started with fun-filled cardio based and warm-up exercises which not only energizes our body, lowers blood pressure and maintain weight loss but also makes our heart stronger and more efficient. She encouraged the parents to join their children for the session as these exercises are beneficial for one and all. To make the session more interesting she showed the postures of different animals and asked the children to follow the same.Followed by these fun exercises, she stressed on the pranayam or breath control practices which strengthen the connection between our body and mind. She also stressed that pranayam promotes relaxation and mindfulness and has techniques to make the respiratory organs to move and expand intentionally, rhythmically and intensively. She also encouraged them to chant the mantra “I am blessed, I am happy, I am healthy” everyday. Moving on she emphasized on the importance of yoga, which involves a playful combination of gentle stretches, clapping, chanting and deep slow breathing techniques. Further she explained that yoga is easily adaptable and accessible and it is useful for all ages and abilities. Overall it was an informative and energetic session which helped in creating awareness and importance of these exercises and how we can adopt and make them an important part of our lives.
