WORLD BICYCLE DAY
‘Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.’
Getting your first bicycle and learning how to ride it is a rite of passage for almost all of us. Despite falling from our bicycles while learning, is a memory we always cherish. The United Nations established World Bicycle Day and this year it’s celebrated on 3 June. The day celebrates the uniqueness, durability and versatility of the bicycle and promotes it as a simple, sustainable means of transportation.
Cycling is a fun and free activity that can be enjoyed with friends and family for life. To celebrate the joy of cycling ,K.R.Mangalam World School,PaschimViharcelebrated World Bicycle Day virtually . The teachers apprised the students of importance of cycling as a great exercise, good for the environment and socially it shares our sense of adventure. The children alsoenjoyed a joy ride on their bicycle or tricycle within the accessibility of their home to celebrate this day.They excitedly drove their bicycles/tricycles and showed to their teachers which boost their confidence.
Riding a bicycle not only brought smiles on little ones faces, but also improved their physical and mental health. It also benefits child’s learning development and is a great way to share some quality time with them.
