World Literacy Day
“Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope.”
Literacy is the most valuable aspect of human lives. Having education in an area helps people think, feel, and behave in a way that contributes to their success, and improves not only their personal satisfaction but also their society. In addition, education develops human personality, thoughts, dealing with others and prepares people for life experiences. Every year World Literacy Day is celebrated on September 8.The main purpose to celebrate the World Literacy Day is to encourage awareness towards literacy so that everyone can know their social and individual rights andto remind the international community, individuals, corporates and societies about the need for intensified efforts to promote education and literacy.
To spread the awareness about the importance of literacy among the little Mangalites, K. R.Mangalam World School,Paschim Vihar celebrated this day on 6th September2022 with a great endeavour. The teachers explained children about the importance of Education in one’s life through a small powerpoint presentation.
Little children from Nursery and Kg department donted books and other stationery material to an NGO.
Children of Pre- School and Pre-Primary were encouraged to opine about the significance of the day. Students were encouraged to donate books, notebooks, stationery etc to needy children in their neighbourhood as well.Children participated in this drive with a great enthusiasm and zeal. The day ended with lots of positivity and hope.
