World Literacy Day
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
Education opens the windows of the mind. Illiteracy is one of the stumbling blocks to progress. The ability to read and write gives individuals greater strength to deal with the world and greater access to information. Every year World Literacy Day is celebrated on September 8.The main purpose to celebrate the World Literacy Day is to encourage awareness towards literacy so that everyone can know their social and individual rights. As we need food to live,we need literacy for social and personal development.
To spread the message about the importance of literacy among the little learners, K.R. Manglam World School ,PaschimVihar celebrated this day on 6th September with great enthusiasm and zeal.
To show the joy of learning and fulfill the mission of literacy, the students of Pre- School and Pre-Primary donated books, notebooks, stationary etc to the children at the NGO “Sahyog Care For You”.To keep the spirit of education alive, the children wholeheartedly participated in this act which not only brought smiles to many faces but also was helpful in inculcating the moral values such as generosity, caring ,sharing etc. The students were overwhelmed and enjoyed the day.
