Teachers Meet – Report

The teachers meet was organized by The Times NIE on 1st November 2018 at Hotel  Radisson Blu, Sector 18, Noida. The topic of the meet was “Emerging problems in adolescents“. The eminent personalities included  Dr.  Sameer  Malhotra, , Psychiatrist, Mr Ashok Singh, PPS Officer 97 batch, Ms Ambica Pandit , NIE and Ms Kubra Sait,  Film & TV  celebrity.

The panelists shared their views on the subject. Mr Ashok Singh emphasized on the need for building credibility of the schools by conducting periodic checks, CCTV surveillance, robust mechanism for addressing student  grievances and self defense training for girls. He added that  learning to handle social media remains a big challenge. Dr. Sameer Malhotra advocated the need for spending  quality time with parents, minimizing the use of social media and internet games for improving the duration & quality of sleep and the need for sensitizing children towards good & bad touch.

Ms Kubra Sait stressed on the need for addressing the challenges of adolescents such as lack of concentration and transgender acknowledgement . Ms Ambica  Pandit spoke  about the growing concern of children facing the large domain of choices in their day to day life.

The discussion was followed by question and answer session

The high light of the event included the presence of Ms Nehal, Miss India Universe 2018 and the magic show by Mr Tushar Kumar.
