National Sports Day is celebrated every year on 29 August.This is the birth anniversary of Hockey wizard, MajorDhyan Chand.
The idiom “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” holds true even for the young learners. Playing sports, whether team-based or individual, isessential for children as they provide not just physical activity, but also help build
children’s self-esteem, confidence, social skills and motivate them to excel in life. In recognition of the importance of sports in one’s life, Primary wing students of K.R Mangalam World School, Vikaspuri celebrated Sports Day with great zeal.The students shared their videos where they had engaged themselves in different kind of indoor games/sports. The children participated whole-heartedly in the event. Little Mangalites have also registered themselves for the Fit India Freedom Run (15 August 2020- 2 October 2020), being conducted by CBSE in association with Fit India. With the motto,RUNNING: The human body’s most raw form of freedom, the aim of this event is to encourage fitness and help allcitizens to get freedom from obesity, laziness, stress, anxiety, diseases etc., considering the social distancing norms too. The concept behind this run is“It can be run anywhere, anytime!”
